What a Day Card

G'day

I felt like creating another card today, nice and clean and simple (CAS).

Thinking of Autumn again, love my leaves stamps, cannot get enough..hmmm...gets me thinking I should attempt a tag....

Anyways here is my Autumn What a Day card.
Click image for a larger and more detail view.

There you go...I like very much the simplicity and the colors and the dragonfly see through windows so to speak.

Started with creating a white stock card.   With my trusty cut out stamps I pressed the dragonfly on top and bottom of the front of card....I then cut them out in different colors and pasted them on the inside of the card so they show through when the card is closed.

Next  I used my cuttlebug to die cut the scallop in green textured paper and the round circles in white paper.  I then stamp one of the leaves with some distress inks and used the rolling technique to acquire the outside red color of leave. Also sponged around with red and yellow to kind of make a glow around the leave.

I then stuck the focal image of the leave with a pop dot onto the scallop background to give it dimension and shadow.   I then stamped the sentiment What a Day with couple of archival inks using double stamping and rolling technique to achieve different color....and there you have a simple and clean card for any occasion.

Stamps used:
Leaves (rubber cling stamps) by Cloud9 Design
Sentiment (clear stamps) Simple Thoughts - Travel by Cloud9 Design

Inks used:

Then stamp a simple Celebrate the Season sentiment in the middle.

Finally with the crushed olive distress ink sponged the edges of the card to bring the whole design together.

Paper Craft Challenge with Sherry

G'Day

I have come across Sherry a very nice lady who is very creative in scrap-booking.  She has an etsy shop which sells scrapping supplies. I have bought a many from her store.

At the moment she is holding a holiday paper crafting challenge on her blog called  stamplorations challenge blog

Visit Sherry's challenge and guidelines at STAMPlorations Holiday Papercrafting Challenge

Here is my third entry a holiday tag celebrating Christmas in Vintage style.. Click on picture to view better and bigger card with detail.

I started with a fresh tag from Sherry's store and sponge on some vintage sepia ink on the top and bottom sections.  I then took some rusty hinge distress ink and sponged on the center.  I then sponged on with wild honey distress ink to highlight the area of the sentiment background.

I wanted to add some background stamp to the center area which i did with script stamp with a masking technique..I then wanted to differentiate the top and bottom background with a grid stamp.

I then stamped on the Merry Christmas sentiment.....I wanted to add on a Christmas tree but was not sure in what way....so i decided to fussy cut one fancy Christmas tree (rubber stamp), from a fresh tag to give it some stability when i use pop dots to lift it of the page and create 3D and shadow on the tag.

Then i fussy cut a present and a star and placed them behind the tree.   I then stamped two ornaments at the top and to cover the empty space under them i stamped one of those (still not sure what it is called) and decorated the three centres with stick on gold pearls.  Finally I sponged the edge with some vintage sepia ink to bring the Christmas theme together.

I love how this Christmas Tag came together...I wanted to keep the vintage type colour with the whole design of the tag to keep it simple and coordinated and to bring a bit of effect choose the tree and pearls to bring a bit of pop to the design.

Here is Sherry's sketch I followed for the challenge.

I am happy.

Sherry also has a wonderful facebook page called 'All About Scrapping" which she also posts about the challenges and her other crafty creations.

I hope you will follow me on this new adventure of stamping and scrapping...spread the word....

I also share my scrapping on my facebook page which is called Monika's Artistic Flare.

Paper Craft Challenge with Sherry

Here is my second entry a holiday card celebrating Christmas.. Click on picture to view better and bigger card with detail.

Using one of Sherry's Cards I used crushed olive distress ink to sponge on a background. Then divided the card and stamped on a sentiment of Christmas Greetings and one of those leaves with red round thingings (sorry not sure what they are called, if you know please tell my by leaving a comment on this post).

I then stamped on the hanging ornaments and colored them in.  Next cut up couple of trees and decorate them with silver glitter...also cut out a stamped present and colored it in and glued them all into position...

Then I stamped three stockings and cut and colored them in and decided to  lift them of the page with some pop dots to raise them of the panel to create a 3D and shadow and to make them look like they are hanging of the top of the page (love those they are my favorite on the card).  I think at least one of the trees or both should have been raised too, but it was too late i already glued them in to place.

I stamped on some snow flakes for a background in the center piece (wish i had white stamping ink).   Then i decided to stamp music bars on the background where the sentiment was.

Finally i used my white gel ink to make some snow and centers for the snowflakes....I also put red and silver glitter on top of the stockings and bow on the present.

I enjoyed making this card...after the first one did not work out....Thats what I like about my creativity if one does not work out make another...

Here is Sherry's sketch I followed for the challenge.

Papercraft Challenge with Sherry

G'Day

Been a while..just chilling and being crafty..

I have decided to include in this blog my scrapping creativity.
Which includes cards, tags and mixed media projects.

I also share my scrapping on my facebook page which is called Monika's Artistic Flare.

Thus the following has transpired at the moment.

I have come across Sherry a very nice lady who is very creative in scrap-booking.  She has an etsy shop which sells scrapping supplies. I have bought a many from her store.

At the moment she is holding a holiday paper crafting challenge on her blog called  stamplorations challenge blog

Here is one of my entries a holiday card during the start of season. Thinking of You.  click on picture to view better and bigger card with detail.

I started with a panel of white stock paper and decided how to make the the partitions. Then with my distress inks I colored the partitions in with sponging and masking technique.

I recently bought these beautiful leaves stamps from Sherry and decided to stamp those with vintage sepia ink.  In the middle section  i masked of the leaves and sections and stamped the script stamp across.

I then stamped the sentiment 'thinking of you' which came with a set of rubber stamps with flowers, again bought from Sherry's store.

Recently i bought these fab cut out shape stampers, a dragonfly in two sizes and a small butterfly, which i thought would be a nice touch and bring some dimension to the panel.

I also stamped some leavey and swirls border across the middle section to bring in some pop of color and interest.  Again using masking technique.

Finally to add interest on the top and bottom sections I took to my trusty cuttlebug and used the small flower folder to create texture to the panel, then i used some distress inks on top of the small flowers to make them pop.

Also final touch was glitter to the butterflies and dragonflies..I made the butterfly and one of the bigger dragonflies lift of the page with some pop dots to raise them of the panel to create a 3D and shadow on the panel.

I then cut a black textured paper to size to give the panel a border then stuck it to a myself made green card base.    There you have it a "Thinking of You"  card.

Depending how i feel i might make another holiday themed tag this time to enter into the same challenge...we may submit up to 3 entries for this challenge.

Here is Sherry's sketch I followed for the challenge.

Sherry also has a wonderful facebook page called 'All About Scrapping" which she also posts about the challenges and her other crafty creations.

Good news I have won runner up for this challenge....very cool and happy to win some designer paper.  Also here is my badge for being top pick in this challenge.

CAS Challenge

G'Day

I have recently come across Addicted to Stamps and More blog....At the moment there is a challenge #64 called Addicted to CAS.

I have cringed within myself and created a clean and simple Christmas card with my rubber stamps and die cuts from my cuttlebug....

It is an effort for me to create CAS as I usually love to embellish my creativity...but clean and simple is slowly growing on me.

Here is my completed CAS Christmas Card.

Trying to get a good angle and the light was not participating too well, that is why a few pictures.

A card base, textured white, that I created myself based on the A2 size and orientated horizontally.

Using simple die cuts of two size squares (two textured complimentary green card stock), on my cuttlebug machine to frame up my Christmas tree (stamped and fussy cut), which is raised on pop dots to give the tree dimension and also the whole frame raised on pop dots to have the red and white ribbon running under and across the whole card.

Finally a Christmas sentiment of Ohh Christmas Tree to compliment the focal image.  Also adding a touch of silver glitter to the tree to make sparkles.

There you go a simple and clean (CAS) Christmas Card.

Stamps used :
Christmas Tree from the set Vintage Christmas by Fiskars.
Ohh Christmas Tree rubber stamp.

Inks used:
Ranger Archival Ink Library Green

Wow I am impressed, as I say so myself.  I really like this card....good it inspires me to make my Christmas Cards early, nice and clean and simple...

The challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More is still running, so if you would like to participate click here for the challenge and rules for entering....

Thanks for stopping by and let me know what you think of my CAS Christmas Card.
